About Us

On April 23, 2007 American Air Conditioning Academy started its first class. Its owners’ history with Heating and Air Conditioning experience goes back 40 years. Mr. Bill Radigan, co-owner and Director of the school, started his career after graduating from West Side Institute of Technology. He soon became a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning HVAC Contractor. In early 1970, Bill began his teaching career as a manufacturer representative across the southeastern United States.

In the mid 1980’s he returned to West Side Institute as an instructor, and was soon promoted to Director of Technical Programs. After retiring in 2006, Bill joined with Mr. Paul Kossick and together they started American Air Conditioning Academy. Paul has 40 years experience in computer technology, both in the field as well as instructing. Their intention is to go back to the basics in HVAC training, establishing a good solid foundation.

For an individual to succeed today, it is important to acquire a combination of book knowledge as well as hands-on skills. That’s what American Air Conditioning Academy is all about. One of our major considerations is class size. Our program is set up for a maximum of 16 students in each class. We feel that this will allow for a better instructor to student ratio. Another consideration is hands-on training. We designed our classes so that approximately 50% of the students’ time will be spent in one of our 6 labs.

With Paul’s knowledge in computers, we may consider adding a class in Building Automation Systems. This class would tie in with new energy systems now being installed across the country.

Paul and Bill are committed in providing both a facility as well as quality training necessary to fill the ever growing need for well trained HVAC technicians. The 12,600 sq. ft. building along with a teaching staff who have many years of book and field experience will do just that. With 6 labs for hands-on training and spacious classrooms, our goal is to be one of the best—if not THE BEST—HVAC schools in the country.

We are located at 14855 Broadway Avenue in Maple Heights, Ohio, and are just 7/10th of a mile from the I-480 Broadway Exit.
